Delivery Information:

Am I (as a customer) responsible for paying customs fees? YES - if you are a buyer from a country outside of the UK.

Customs fees are placed on physical goods that are imported into a country from another country or territory. These fees are applied to international sales, but never domestic. If you purchase an FCD Ghost Box from this website which is based in the UK and you want it to be delivered to another country, maybe in Europe, the EU, the USA, Canada, or other countries in the world, you may have to pay extra fees to cover customs when the item reaches your country customs clearances,

***** As a buyer, you are generally responsible for paying the additional costs such as duties, taxes, tariffs, and customs clearance fees.

***** Most customs charges are due once the package arrives in the destination country. The cost of the charges is based on:

The price and type of item (in this case - home electrical goods harmonised tariff number for AM/FM radio receiver. There currently is no existing harmonised tariff number for a radio based spirit box (ghost box), so we use the AM/FM Radio code).

For example:

Europe and EU: 8527.19 (Radio AM/FM receiver)
USA: 8527.99.15 (Radio AM/FM receiver)

The package weight and dimensions, (small parcel sizes, 500gms and 1kg most common).

The origin country the package is being shipped from - (the UK where FCD Ghost Boxes is based).

The taxes, duties, and fees set by the destination country.

All of this information is added by FCD Ghost Boxes to the postage label details at the time of shipping and customs in your country will determine the amount in duty and fees you will have to pay to have your parcel released from customs and delivered to you.

When you buy a package from a seller like FCD Ghost Boxes, located in a different country, PLEASE NOTE that additional fees and duties may apply. However this notice does not mean that additional charges for your order are guaranteed and this will be at the discretion of your local /your country Customs Office. It would be advisable to be aware that customs charges can be applied for your package to be released from your countries customs, and it will not be delivered to you until this amount has been made by the customer. Your local customs office can be contacted to see if additional charges need to be paid for your order.

Although this may not be applicable in all cases, the customs charge is around 10% of the price value for the purchased item for most countries. Other fees and local taxes may be added to this amount like the shipping amount. This is just a guide and exact charges should be checked by the buyer.

For example:
You buy an FCD Portal Pro (in a 1kg small parcel) from the FCD Ghost Boxes website shop, at checkout you will see that you have paid for the item and for the shipping to your country /your address given. You will pay this amount to FCD Ghost Boxes through the available payment gateway at checkout. Your order will be completed and shipped to you by FCD Ghost Boxes:

Portal Pro: £89.99 less 10% Discount (if available) = £80.99, plus shipping (lets say to France which is around £18.00 shipping). That's a total at checkout of £98.99 and this is what you pay now at checkout to place your order.
FCD Ghost Boxes does not add VAT on the item as we are not a VAT registered company.

When your order has been shipped to you, once it reaches your country customs, it will be assessed and they will usually add a customs duty , plus tax and fees. In our example of France, the French customs will charge approx. this amount based on the harmonised tarrif code for the item you have ordered.
Customs Duty charge plus local taxes: £19.08 plus online admin fees: £4.50. This will amount to an approx charge to you from customs of £23.50

In order to have your parcel released from customs, you will have to pay that amount of £23.50 before it can be delivered by your local postal company.

Other countries have different rates, but the calculation will be similar.

FCD Ghost Boxes is not liable for any customs charges after the sale of any item from the FCD Ghost Boxes website shop has been made by the customer. The total price quoted on this website shop at checkout is for International Shipping (tracked & Signed), insurance cover and the full price of the item being purchased only. This excludes any further customs charges made which remain the resposibility of the buying customer. By purchasing any item from the FCD Ghost Boxes website shop, you are agreeing that you are responsible for paying any extra customs charges.

So please remember: What buyers outside of the UK are responsible for:

  • Customs duties and taxes:

These are imposed by the buyer's country and vary depending on the item and the destination country's laws.

  • Paying fees:

The buyer is responsible for paying these fees to their local customs office or carrier upon delivery.
